A bigger home sounds great!
However, the thought of a higher house payment, more furnishings, bigger commitment, etc.- could feel overwhelming.
The good news is that this is normal, the bad news is that this is normal…. welcome to the “moving-up” club .:)
No matter what market conditions we find ourselves in there will be some challenges and opportunities. However, the biggest hurdle in this journey is not the financial or the process. It usually comes with the responsibility of being parents and making sure it’s the “right” move.
At this stage of your life, you’ve been in your house for a few years and probably have it fixed up just the way you like. You are very comfortable with the mortgage payment, neighbors, and the kids are happy.
But at the same time you know it’s time for the bigger home, bedroom count, pool, and entertaining, and it’s all for the right reasons. You and your spouse have discussed it many times, have looked at some great homes on the computer, and maybe have gone to celebrate with some friends in their new home.
Well if this sounds familiar, congratulations, you are halfway there and the 2nd half is more fun but could be a little stressful.
At this stage, you and your spouse are probably in alignment with your desired outcome. I suggest you pick a great community, find a dream home, take a few action steps, and – BAM- it will happen!
Now, I may make it sound easy but I have had the honor of serving over 1100 families through this journey. I know how easy it is to get stuck but I also know how to move you forward. 🙂
I even put together a signature guide called the “2nd Story Process”. Feel free to give it a read and I would like to hear your thoughts.
